Who We Are

The Cyber Ledger ("TCL", "we", "us", "our") is a cybersecurity training and services platform. We operate the website at thecyberledger.in and the course platform at thecyberledger.coursestack.com.

For the purposes of applicable data protection law, The Cyber Ledger is the data controller responsible for your personal information collected through these properties.

What We Collect

We only collect information that is necessary to provide our services.

Contact Form

When you submit an inquiry via our contact form, we collect your full name, email address, the subject of your message, and the message body. This data is used solely to respond to your inquiry.

Course Platform (Coursestack)

Our courses are hosted on Coursestack. When you register or enrol, Coursestack collects your name, email address, and course progress data on our behalf. Coursestack acts as a data processor under our instructions. Please also review Coursestack's Privacy Policy for their platform-level practices.

Email Newsletter

If you subscribe to updates or notifications, we collect your email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send you.

Payment Processing

We do not store your payment details. All transactions are handled by our third-party payment processor(s). We receive only a transaction confirmation and, where required for receipts, your name and email address. Your card details never touch our servers.

Usage Data (Automatically Collected)

When you visit our website, we may automatically receive standard server log data: your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used solely for security monitoring and improving site performance. It is not sold or used for advertising profiling.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal data only for the purposes listed below. We do not sell your data — ever.

  • To respond to contact form submissions and enquiries
  • To create and manage your course platform account
  • To deliver courses and track your learning progress
  • To process payments and issue receipts or invoices
  • To send you newsletters or programme updates you have opted into
  • To notify you about upcoming batches or programmes you expressed interest in
  • To maintain the security and integrity of our platform
  • To comply with legal obligations under applicable law

Legal Basis (EU/UK users under GDPR)

We process your data on the basis of contractual necessity (to deliver services you've enrolled in), legitimate interests (security, service improvement), and consent (newsletters and marketing communications). You may withdraw consent at any time.

Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate. Each acts as a data processor under appropriate agreements.

Payment Processor Transaction handling Name, email (for receipts)
Email Service Provider Newsletter & transactional email Email address
Zoho Bookings Session booking (mentorship) Name, email, booking details

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for commercial profiling purposes. Links to external platforms (YouTube, LinkedIn, GitBook, Discord) are provided for your convenience — once you leave our site, their own privacy policies apply.

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • Contact form data — retained for up to 12 months after your last interaction, then deleted.
  • Course & account data — retained for the duration of your account plus a reasonable period thereafter, or until you request deletion.
  • Payment records — retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial regulations (and applicable international equivalents).
  • Newsletter subscriptions — retained until you unsubscribe, after which your email is removed from active lists within 30 days.

Cookies

Our main website uses only essential cookies — for example, to remember your theme preference (dark/light mode). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies on thecyberledger.in.

The course platform (Coursestack) may use its own cookies to manage your logged-in session and track course progress. These are necessary for the platform to function. Please refer to Coursestack's own cookie policy for full details.

You can control cookie behaviour through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect site functionality.

We take security seriously — it's our profession. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include HTTPS encryption, access controls, and regular review of our data handling practices.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take every reasonable precaution, we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and relevant authorities as required by applicable law.
